Who Should Attend?

This course is for anyone involved with maintaining fire extinguishers and needs to become a ‘competent person’ in accordance with BS5306 part 3:2009.


COURSE PROGRAMME - DAYS 1-3

This intensive three-day programme introduces the student to the requirements of BS5306 part 3:2009 and part 8:2000.

The causes and means of fire prevention.
Fire legislation, regulations and appropriate British/European standards.
Type, construction and safe operation of fire extinguishers.
Inspection procedures.
Servicing procedures - basic, extended and overhaul.
Provision and siting of extinguishers.
Practical servicing experience.


BAFE* (FETA) EXAMINATION - DAY 4

Two hour written examination paper**.

One-to-one practical examination.



*BAFE has taken over from FETA as the first step in becoming the national examination board.


**Arrangements can be made for dyslexic students if we are advised at the time of booking.
