Fire Legislation

Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into affect on the 1st of October 2006 with the aim of providing one comprehensive piece of legislation replacing the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations (as amended) 1999 that were the main pieces of legislation have been repealed.

Fire Certificates once the bastion of fire precautions in commercial premises no longer apply and the emphasis is now upon Fire Risk Assessment.
